Yea it was on 3rd of August... I was in my room as I was on sick leave... My shoulder was injured in the previous day's match. My best buddy was in Bangalore with me as he landed from Dubai last week and had come to Bangalore for couple of days. He was staying with me. We reached our room by 7 in the night after some shopping and meetings. By the time we reached room some of our friends were waiting to meet him. He had brought a Johnny walker Black label full bottle for his friends... And all were having a good time with lots of food, cool drinks etc. All of them were certified drunkards that they finished the full bottle in 30mins and had to go outside and buy one more bottle...all were drunk and were making noise and i was struggling to control them so that the owner who lives in the first floor won't come down and throw me out.. In the meantime, my buddy was so desperate to show his capacity by accepting a challenge to drink so called BOMB - which is actually beer mixed with scotch whiskey(said to be a deadly combination by professionals). It was said that after having one peg of bomb, the person would lose his senses in not more than 5mins and will be flat. My buddy was already 4 pegs down, still accepted the challenge and had not 1, not 2 but 3 bombs. He was so happy to see that he is all fine after 3 bombs! By then all others also had enough and left the place by 1AM leaving me and my best buddy in the room..
I was about to sleep then I saw the after effects of the so called BOMB! I could see colorful texture made up of afternoon Mexican wave pizza to the last eaten grilled chicken on my floor. So on the friendship day, I was all alone cleaning up all the outcome of so called BOMB on my bed and the floor. I asked my buddy to go to the bathroom and wash his face... Then I heard a sound Bang!! I rushed into the bathroom and all I could see is that my wash basin is fell down and broken as he was using it to support his body!!
So I had to keep it aside and take him to the bed. And at 2.40AM when I went to bed, all i had in mind is how to get it fixed without letting my PG owner know about that! So I was about to shutdown my laptop, so when my friend saw me online that time, called me up and asked, "Hey buddy, wasup? Are you still awake? How was the friendship day? I think you are having a great time!” I was struggling to find new words to describe him my happiness #$#@$%#%#!$!#$!#$*)*()%@$.
But we all had real fun... After all its friendship... it’s all there in the game! :) But I must say one thing - The OUTCOME of BOMB really sucks!!!
PS: As the hero do not want to spoil his reputation for having a huge capacity and stamina, he had requested me not to tell about this incident to anyone else. Hence, I am not revealing his name!! - But i am sure, You people can easily guess the person Hee heee ... no harm meant :P

Feeling nostalgic...
I still remember, it was raining when I left home for the first time for my studies to NTTF... I don’t know why I feel so nostalgic whenever it rains.. Here sitting in the office on a boring Sunday evening with a cup of Nescafe black coffee in my hand, my mind slipped into the past… The time which I could never get back in my lifetime again… When I think about that reality, I feel very sad… In fact it tells me… I am getting old… Yea.. I am no more a kid… It makes me really sad because I love to keep a naughty kid inside me all the time... But at times when I behave like a child, people used to ask me – “Have you gone nuts?” But it doesn’t affect me at all… I love to act like a kid at times – at least to my parents... to my sister… while playing with her kid, in fact any kids… while being in the midst of my dear friends… Some people do understand me; but some might think that I am not matured… But no one knows that it’s a matured guy trying to go back to his younger days… trying to do what he enjoys doing… And I must tell that I will do the same no matter what others say… I enjoy being a kid until unless it’s not required to be so…
Now I am in a perfect mood to get into a nostalgic mood... Slow melodies in the background… nobody nearby me in the office on a Sunday eve…Hot Nescafe … kind of cloudy climate… perfect... Last time when I had gone to my hometown, It was raining when I landed from the bus… after getting down out of the bus, I caught an auto and while going I saw my schools (LP, UP and the High school), the school ground… they all were telling me stories… I reached my home sweet home… As usual my Mom was waiting for me at the door step after preparing my favorite idly and Onion Chatney… She looks tired, but never expresses it when I am around – something only a mother could do… My 7 years old cat is still there with her 7-8 kittens of different ages… are they also telling me some stories?
I sleep in my parents’ room whenever I go home… I went to my room upstairs… nobody uses it now… but all the memories are still living in there… My old cricket kit… My posters… ohh… I felt sad when I felt that I would never be going to my college with my kit again… I could have sold it off… But I did not… I had a dream of my son learning cricket basics with those…I know it won’t last that long… but still no need to pay for hoping so :)… I walk around my house in my every visit… every room.. Every corner… all those tell me different stories… just a quick revision of the past, like reading main points before the exam bell…

There my old friends were waiting for me… 2-3 of them had come from abroad for a short vacation and will be going back in a week’s time… So wanted to spend some good time with them… We all had real fun.. We played a cricket match while it was raining cats and dogs. It’s not the match we were crazy about, but the time we get to have together with all the old memories… we were really like young kids playing cricket in that rain… Those who were traveling in the buses and other vehicles were looking at us like anything but who cares? (:-P) We were not done yet… Soon after finishing the match… we went to the paddy field at around 4.30PM… climate is the same… only difference if it was cricket in the afternoon, now it’s the time for playing football!! (:D)Heavy rain…
The other day I spent completely sitting inside my house and shopping with my dad and mom… It was so cloudy that at 1PM it looked like its 7PM in the night! This time, I really enjoyed the beauty of Kerala… The pleasure of friendship… the comfort of family… A totally enjoyed trip I must say… And while coming back to Bangalore with a pack of my mom-made sweet ADA for my friends in Bangalore, it was still drizzling… It has come not just to send me off with a heart full of memories but tempting me to make another trip to my home sweet home….

A real surprise!

Hey friends..
Its been so long since I wrote something here.. Was bit busy with some official and personal work all this while... however, I got to share a glad news here with you all... I hope, you all would have read the post about my great phone friend Manjukkuty! (http://i-am-jithu.blogspot.com/2008/02/waitingwith-heart-full-of-hopes.html). In fact i was in tears while writing both the posts... The difference is that the first one was written with a broken heart... But this one is with a more relaxed mind...
It was on a boring Sunday of May, I was surfing through the internet... downloading movies... Chit chatting with some of my friends, reading movie reviews etc.. But suddenly, I got to see an alert for someone just logged in... I was half sleepy but shocked to see the person who just logged in... Its my dear friend Manjukkutty! For a while I felt like I might be dreaming... Because I used to day dreams those days... but then she pinged me..." Jithuchettayeee....".. I was like... Shocked to believe my senses... In fact I was forced to believe that she had passed away after her surgery as I didn’t get to hear from her for such a long period.. I asked her "is it really you or someone else.." then she replied with her regular humor sense.. "No its my soul from heaven chatting with you...".. I was so happy to see her in her normal mood.. Then I asked her about the surgery and all.. she replied "No one can take me that easily to the top world as I had put on lots of weight these days". The same old naughty manjukkutty!
In fact I couldn’t talk to her much, as she had to sign out.. But she told me the whole story in short.. She had successfully undergone the heart surgery and was taking rest at her brother's house in Chennai... She is completely out of danger now.. And the doctors said it’s a miracle to get her back to life.. She still needs to take rest for some more months before she could get back to normal life... She just got a chance to come online from a laptop.. And she didn't miss that chance... :) [No wonder].
However, I am so happy to see her back in action... I wish her a great happy life ahead... I must thank you each and everyone who had shared their wishes and prayers for her long life... Thanks to all of you for your prayers and wishes..
Its a great feeling when we get to see someone back in life whom we believed to be lost for ever.. It is more pleasing when we get back our dear friend in a world where we lose friends everyday!
All I need to tell you people is just one thing - God is great; trust him and he will never let you down...
Good day!

Waiting...with a heart full of hopes....
She has got her own style of starting the conversation; she used to say - "Jithuchettaaayiye, enna undu vishesham?" It was so sweet listening to her talk... And the way she talks, always made me feel closer to her.. But trust me it wasn’t anything like love or so called infatuation.. It was just an admiration towards her pleasant, friendly and positive attitude... she was very bold and straight forward...
Whenever I felt sad, I preffered talking to her so that I feel good... She is too good to be called a mood setter. We used to talk at least once in a week or so. We never had any communication gap between us. But we could not talk to each other whenever she goes to meet her aunty who lives in Chennai. But she used to inform me in advance whenever she goes out of station; so that wasn’t a big point of concern.
Usually the problems in any friendship occur whenever there is a communication gap. And it’s too tough especially for people those who are very close. The same thing happened in our case... At a point of time, I started getting a feeling that she is avoiding me.. There is no energy when she talk.. No enthusiasm... always hurries to end the call...Our conversation has come down to just saying - hi, how are you etc. It has become so formal and her unusual behavior made me upset... I felt like she is hiding something from me...
One day when I tried calling her, her mobile was switched off.. And was the same condition for many days... And finally I got her on the phone after 2-3 weeks... And when I asked her, she said she had been to meet her aunty in Chennai and cut the call saying she is very busy. I really got frustrated of her weird behavior. She always used to inform me before she go for such long outstation tours and this time she did not even inform me.. I felt very bad, and I thought she is no more interested in our friendship, so it is good to put a full stop to this rather than carrying this friendship forward in such a short version manner.
The next day, I called her up and asked for the reason why she avoids me.. She said that I am thinking too much about that and that is the reason why I feel so... I got a bit emotional, told everything that came into my mind, though I could hear her crying at the other end. I cut the call by saying that I would never call her up again.
She called me several times after this incident and I was so angry and sad, that i did not even bother to pick her call. But 2 days later, I received a sms from her which read like this - “Jithu, I want to talk to you.. something very serious.. And please talk to me, else I may not be able to...Please call me for God's sake.." I called her up soon after getting this sms.. And for my surprise, I could hear my old friend Manju with her energetic voice and funny slang.. She asked me to repeat those funny dialogues and talks, which made her, laugh for hours in the past... That day she laughed a lot.. We spoke over more than 2 hours. That day after the call, I was so happy and I felt like, I got my friend back in life.. But that night I received another sms from her which goes like this “Dear Jithu, Thanks a lot for making me laugh and reminding all those good old days.. I am so happy to know that you are not angry with me... I may not be able to talk to you ever like this because I will leave very shortly... I will miss you for sure". I called her up soon and at the other i could hear to her crying... when I asked her about the matter, she told me about her heart problem and about the fact that she will be alive only for maximum of 1-2 months... She is having this heart problem for the last 3-4 years... She used to go to Chennai for her medical checkup and not for meeting her aunty. She was made to believe that it’s not a serious problem by her parents. But however, she happened to know about the truth now. The doctors had confirmed that she will not survive for more than a month but they still have a ray of hope on the final surgery which is a do or die situation.. They have come back to Kerala for the last time before they go to Chennai for that final Surgery.
She tried to avoid me because she did not want me to know all these. But when I felt sad and got emotional because of her behavior, she too felt bad. And that is why she thought of telling all these to me... I was shocked to hear all these from her... She told me that next day, they are taking her to a hospital in Chennai for the last try, but the chances are very less... Though I tried my best to boost up her confidence, nothing seems to be helpful.. Her voice was loud and clear when she said "I know that I will not survive". I was speechless after hearing all these.. But what amazed me the most was that, she did not cry over the phone that time.. Instead she tried to make me laugh my imitating her funny slang and by saying her old punch dialogues.. But I could not laugh... I was like frozen.. I did not know what to say... I was totally disturbed... though she was laughing loud, I could feel the pain she has inside... The final words of her were like this.. "Jithuchettaayiye... Just wish me all best na... Please take care.. And always smile and miss me....I will miss you very badly... I will speak to you soon if I am alive..tatttatta" and she hung up... I cried a lot that night... I tried calling her up after sometime.. But her mobile was switched off...
It’s been more than 3 months since I spoke to her...I still could not believe the story what she told.. I really wish if she was fooling me.. I still have her conversations recorded with me.. I listen to that whenever I think about her...I still try calling her up hoping to talk to her.. But now, instead of the "mobile is switched off" message, I could hear the "Number has been temporarily disconnected" message.. I am sure that she can’t go like this... Sooner or later, I will get a call from her with her trademark dialogue - "Jithuchettaaayiye..."
Manjukkuttiee.. If you are reading this.. Please stop playing, I am tired of your pranks... please call me and talk to me... I miss you a lot....I will be still waiting for your call... Waiting...with a heart full of hopes....

Merry Xmas!
Jithuuu…Get up…I could hear my mom shouting from kitchen… Its Christmas time… Clock showed 10.30 AM, but I am on my bed, still sleeping. Last day almost spend 3 hours in the late night nearby the club with my friends... Still, I am thinking about my friend’s classmate Anu, who asks about me every time she meets him. Hmm interesting... Or is he playing prank? No, he was very serious when he told me and by the way why should he lie? After all I am young, single and available, and she might be impressed - I tried to convince myself. But still I could not get her outlook in my mind – did I see her already? Is she tall? Is she beautiful? Is she sexy? Etc... Finally I got up from the bed and quickly got ready for breakfast, because the smell of mom’s special chatney and sambar was too tempting!Hmm… finished the breakfast in a hurry and rushed to my friend Rahul’s house, usually he is a funny character… though I told him I don’t trust him, I thought I would ask him the details, because it’s not a simple thing to let go like that… I asked him for her address and phone number... But this time he was very serious (or pretending to be?) - He said I should not spoil his image in front of her because of my stupidity!! How dare he say so...? Bloody jerk! Stupid! Me? How mean? Hmm I controlled my anger because he is my customer this timeL. He said that she will be calling me on 23rd and might ask for a meeting on Xmas day near the church... Oh My God... is she a Christian then, I asked him... Then he shouted like anything all of a sudden talking about value of true love and being passionate and all... I got shocked for a while, because I never seen him getting so emotional like this! Hmm finally even I felt like, we should not love someone considering caste and religion... It should be spontaneous... Mind to mind... Love @ first sight! Wow... I myself felt very much diplomatic!! For the first time in my life (May be the last time) I felt respect towards my friend!). Ok fine I agree, I don’t mind if she is a Christian, after all she is a human that’s enough for me, I told him... He said “hmm wonderful... Now you speak like my friend” – I didn’t understand what he meant by that... But one thing for sure, he wanted me to behave that manner. But still, I couldn’t stop myself asking him that question – is she good looking??? For that he didn’t give me any answer instead he glared at me like an angry bull! Oh man that was really scary. For me that signal was more than enough than an answer… I realized one more lesson – Love is always blind... We should not think about the external beauty. Instead we should see the inner beauty of that person who had a beautiful mind to love!! Wow great!!December – 23rd - I was waiting since morning for her call… even my friends where there with me playing cards but all my concentration was on my mobile… I wished if my friends go for lunch and then I get her call that would be fine, because my friends are really idiots they make hell lots of noise and I might get tensed. And I don’t wanna make my first impression a really bad one! Hmm luckily they all went for lunch at 12. in my room only me and my cell phone! Bingo! At 12.30 there goes my mobile ringing!! As I expected an unknown local number! I took the call with shaking hands...
- “Hello…” - I said. No response. I said again - hello!!
- “Hi Jithu…This is Anu” What a sweet voice, I said in my mind!
- Ohh Rahul told me, that you would be calling me! – I said.
- Yea… he is my classmate. So how are you? – She asked.
- I am Fine!! I am fine!! – I was literally shouting! I felt so proud that I got a friend like rahul!!
- I wanna tell you something, shall we meet on this Xmas night near the church gate? I will be waiting at 12.30 after the prayers – she asked.
- Ohh, why not!! Why not.. But why do you wanna see me?? I asked.
- Answer was a laugh followed by this statement, “Ohh that’s a secret!”
– I asked – have you ever seen me before?
- Yea, I have seen you so many times with Rahul, but somehow could not get the courage to walk up to you and talk. But now I feel like talking to you and meeting you. Do you mind…? She stopped!
- Hey, I don’t mind at all, No problem… I will be there! Was I screaming while saying that?
- Ok then see u on Xmas night! Get me my Xmas cake also –she hung up by saying this!
Yaaahoo!! So I am going to meet her!! Anu!! Doesn’t matter whether she is a Christian or Muslim! She loves me, that’s it!! “JITHU I LOVE YOU” that’s what she is going to say when she meets me- I am very good at women’s psychology! But Am I that too attractive??? – I thought for a while. At around 2PM my friends came back and asked whether I got her call or not? I said whose call? No calls for the last 2 days, get over it guys - why to involve them and get things screwed up? I thought.
On Xmas eve, I bought an almond flavored cream cake (Rupees 350/- L so what, it’s for the girl who loves be blindly right). When my friends called me for the Xmas carol, I told them that I have severe back pain so that I can’t join them: D – See how smart I am! They will go for the carol and will be coming back by around 11.30 and then they would go to the church and there was no chance for them to come anywhere near to the church gate! I went there wearing my new jeans and white shirt, and with that big Almond flavored Cream cake, at around 12.30 I could see someone is coming through the shadows towards the church gate, ohh she is coming, my legs started shivering.. and turned the other side so that I need not have to face her. After 2-3 minutes, somebody, called me from behind, I turned back with lots of expectations… “Hi Annnnn..” I couldn’t complete that because instead of ANU, it’s my X-schoolmate Joseph- who was the mimicry champion in my school. So many things flashed very in my brain – Unusual seriousness of my friend Rahul, gathering of all my crooked friends, Unknown girl named Anu. Things got pretty clear for me! I knew that things goner out of my control, my brain said, RUN JITHU RUN… But before those signals reached my leg muscles, I heard a loud Corus screaming behind me and all of a sudden all my friends, the entire Carol team jumped over me from nowhere in the darkness and taken off my rupees 350/- worth Almond flavored Cream cake!! I never been embarrassed like this ever before in my life, while running back home, I could hear my friends screaming “Jithu Merry Xmas!!”Next day, those @!#$@#$@#$#@ took a piece of cake to my house and gave to me – they all had a wicked smile on their $@#$@#$ faces, I could not say anything because my parents were there and when my dad asked them, why only for Jithu? They replied it is because of Jithu’s sincere hard work got them this Cake!! They wished me and my parents and left. While eating the cake I looked at them and said myself – Merry X’mas!
